Who we are
Our website address is: https://peckstitlebook.com.
What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we will track products you have viewed to show you products you have recently viewed; location, IP address, and browser type to estimate the taxes and shipping; cookies to keep track of cart contents while browsing the site. See Cookies section.
When you make a purchase, you will provide information including your name, company name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card payment details and optional account information like username and password. This information is used to send you information about your account and order, respond to your requests, process payments, prevent fraud, set up your account in our store, and comply with any legal obligations such as calculating taxes. If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email address, and phone number, which will be used to populate checkout for future orders. We also store purchased shipping labels on our server for reprinting and to handle support requests.
When you subscribe and create a membership account, you will be asked to provide an email address for which we will use to send information about your account and subscriptions. This may include payment receipts, password reset emails, and payment reminders. The secure sign on records activity such as starting the login process, completing the login process, failing the login process, successfully or failing to be redirected after login. Several functionality cookies are also set. To initiate and process subscriptions, subscriber’s email address and the ID of subscription being processed is collected with some basic server data, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address from which the subscribing user is viewing the page, and the URI which was given in order to access the page. This server data is used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.
When you use this site, several actions trigger the dispatch of emails. They contain information about you associated with your email address. Which data are part of these emails depends on the action performed. These emails are stored and accessible to site management as a log.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Functionality cookies are set for a duration of 347 days to verify a member’s subscription.
Cookies are used to allow an authorized user to view protected content without being redirected. This cookie contains a random alpha-numeric string of text and is removed after five seconds. These cookies do not contain any personal information nor can they be combined with any other data to create a profile of an individual.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Commenter’s name and address are stored in cookies. See Cookies section.
Contact forms
Contact form submission data such as IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message is submitted to the Akismet service for the sole purpose of spam checking. The actual submission data is stored in our database and is emailed to the site Administrator. This email will contain the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email address, and message.
Payments
Stephens-Peck, Inc. does not store or process payment information locally. That information is securely transmitted to, and stored by the payment gateway itself. Some limited information about the credit card may be stored, such as subscription IDs from automatic recurring subscriptions, transaction numbers, and last four digits and expiration date used for expiring card reminders. To facilitate new signup and renewals, we accept payments through Authorize.net and PayPal. Information shared with a payment provider to process payments include name, email, address, phone, city/state/zip, unique payment identifier, and payment provider identifier. To better understand how a provider uses and stores the data shared with them, check their privacy policies directly.
Who we share your data with
We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you.
A WordPress.com account is created for members who do not already have an account associated with the email the customer uses to create their account. History of signups and billing facilitated via this feature is stored on WordPress.com servers for accounting and subsequent renewal purposes. For the purpose of renewing subscriptions, we store the encrypted ID of the credit card connected to the subscription, user ID that initiated the purchase, details about the product, payment history for the subscription, the last four digits of the credit card and type (safe details). The ID of the credit card is connected to the WordPress.com User ID, which allows for one-click payments on other subscription products sold on WordPress.com.
WooCommerce is used for shipping and tracking packages. It uses purchase total, currency, billing information, destination address, purchased product IDs, dimensions, weight, quantities, and customer’s name.
EasyPost is used for shipping labels. We send customer’s name, address, as well as weight, dimensions, and quantities purchased to determine postage fees due.
Share buttons load content directly from its service in order to display the button, as well as information and tools for the sharing party. Each service collects information about the sharing party. When sharing via email, the sharing party’s name, email address, IP address (for spam checking), user agent (for spam checking), and email body/content. Additionally, the sharing party’s IP address will be shared with reCAPTCHA by Google.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We generally store information as long as necessary to support subscription services. Order information is stored for 10 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes company name, name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses.
How we protect your data
Encryption, two factor authentication, and staff training in data protection. Peckstitlebook.com systems are fully PCI compliant.
